TAARIFA YA BENDERA
Bendera ya taifa letu la Kenya lazima ipewe heshima na umuhimu unaostahili. Haifai kupeperushe bendera usiku kwani hakuna anayeweza kuiona pasipo mwangaza Huku kupeperusha bendera usiku hudhoufisha maisha ya bendera maradufu.Wakati bendera inaposhushwa jioni, iwapo kuna mvua tandaza bendera yenyewe chini Ili iweze kukauka kabisa kabla ya kuikunja
ITIFAKI YA BENDERA
1. Iwapo bendera ya Taifa inapeperushwa, ni lazima iwe katika mlingoti mwandamizi
2. Mlingoti mwandamizi ni (a) Mlingoti wa juu kabisa uwe katika kundi, (b) Mlingoti ikiwa katika mstari(mjengo ikiwa nyuma yako) mlingoti mwandamizi uko upande wa kulia wa mstari. (Ukiziangalia ni upande wa kushoto)
3.Usipeperushe kamwe bendera moja juu ya nyingine katika mlingoti mmoja, kwani kwa kufanya hivi bendera iliyoko chini itakuwa imetekwa na bendera iliyoko juu yake.
4.Si Kawaida kupeperusha bendera mbili tofauti katika mlingoti mmoja na kwenya kimo au urefu sawa, kwani bendera hazipeperuki vyema wala hazitatambuliki.
5. Bendera ya taifa la KENYA huwa kipaumbele, dhidi ya bendera za kampuni ambazo huchukua kipaumbele dhihi, ya bendera za vitengo fulani.
6. Licha ya yaliyotajwa katika ibara ya tano kuhusukuipa bendera kipaumbele hakuna jambo lolote limeandikishwa na kuthibitishwa. Iwapo bendera nyingi zinapeperushwa Basi watu wengi huipa bendera ya jumuiya ya madola kipaumbele kishaa bendera za Mataifa mengine ya kigeni na hatimaye bendera hufuatana na mpango wa alfabeti.
7. Haifai kwa vyovyote vile kutumia bendera ya taifa la KENYA kibiashara, kuongeza nembu au alama yoyote ile.
8. Daima peperusha bendera safi, na upandishe juu kabisa kwenye mlingoti.
9. Kamwe usipeperushe bendera nusu mlingoti, isipokuwa siku ya maombolezo ya kitaifa kwa amri ya serikali.
10. Wakati bendera iliyokuwa nusu mlingoti yateremushwa ni sharti ipandishe juu hadi mwisho wa mlingoti kisha uiteremushe chini.
11. Iwapo haiwezekani kupandisha bendera zote zilizoko na vilevile kuziteremusha kwa wakati mmoja, basi ni bora kuipandisha bendera ya taifa mwanzo na kuiteremusha ikiwa ya mwisho baada ya zingine zote.
12. Usitumie bendera ya taifa kama kitambaa cha meza kwenye mikutano ya umma. Yafaa iwe juu, nyuma ya jukwaa.
13. Usiache mlingoti bila bendera mchana, kwani ni ishara ya kutowajibika.
Hakikisha kuwa bendera ya taifa yapeperushwa ikiwa wima. Rangi za bendera zafaa kufuatana kuanzia iliyoko juu ikiwa nyeusi kisha nyuepe ikifuatana na nyekundu kisha nyeupe hatimaye kijani. Neha na mikuki iliyo juu ya ngao ya kimaasai lazima ielekee ju.

FLAG INFORMATION
The Kenya National Flag should be treated with utmost respect. Do not fly flags at night, this halves the life of the tag and serves no useful purpose as nobody can see it at night unless it is illuminated. When hauled down in the evening in a wet condition, spread out to dry thoroughly before rolling up.
FLAG PROTOCOL
1. If the National Flag is flown, it must always be flown from senior flag pole.
2. The senior flag pole is (A) the highest being in a group (B)If flag poles are in line with your back to the building) the senior pole is on the right side, left if you face them.
3.Never fly one flag above the other on the same flag pole. It means the top ring has captured the lower flag.
4.It is unusual to fly two different flags, at equal height, on the same staff neither flag flies well or can they be clearly distinguished
5. The KENYA National Flag takes precedence over Company/School flag, which takes precedence over a house flag.
6. After the precedence is over the National flag, apart from para 5, there is nothing that is really written down. If large number of flags are flown, then most
people give the Commonwealth precedence before Foreign, and list flags in alphabet.
7. Never use the National Flag as an advertisement, or add slogans or Logos to it
8. Always fly a clean flag, and haul it to the top of your flag pole
9. Never fly flags at half-mast, except on days of National mourning by State command.
10. When hauling a half-mast flag, it should be hoisted to the top then hauled down.
11. Raise the National Flag first and lower it last, unless all flags can be raised or lowered at the same time
12. Do not use the National flag as a table cloth at public meetings. It should be above and behind the ……..xxxx
13. Do not leave your flag pole empty during the day, it is a sign of abandonment
Do not fly the National flag upside down. What determines the right way up is the colour Scheme. The Black must be at the top, followed by white, red, white then green. The tips of the spears that cross the Massal shield must also point upwards.
